Here we have an all-time British classic, a Jaguar MK2 with the 3.4 engine and manual gearbox with overdrive. It is accompanied by a heritage certificate telling us that it was built on 11/8/1960, dispatched to Henleys of Manchester on 22/8/1960, was finished in pearl grey with light blue leather, and was a RHD UK supplied example. However, the HPi states that it was not registered in the UK until 1/6/1983. This could be an oversight on the part of the DVLA, which does happens, or maybe it went out of the country and came back again in 1983.
The Jaguar is currently sat on a rather nice set of wire wheels, which we are informed are a later edition. There are photographs of it sat on steel wheels from some years ago, so we suspect the wires are latterly fitted. As the Jaguar is finished in that lovely pearl grey, the wires set it off a treat. To add to that, the interior is blue leather which is quite a rare thing to find. As the Jaguar is now 65 years old, it is showing some signs of age to be expected. There are a few things to do to cosmetically to the bodywork, and the leather could benefit from recolouring and a good feed. Or you could just leave as it is and enjoy the patina of a true 1960s icon that looks fantastic and will never fail to turn heads wherever it goes.
The paperwork is quite good with a selection of past invoices and receipts, as well as a good collection of older MOTs. The last invoice dated 22/8/2025 is for a clutch slave cylinder, brake fluid, engine oil Lucas points, and a condenser at a cost of £317.93. The vendor has taken the time and effort to do this before he offered it for sale, which is a nice thing to do and something that not everyone would do. It is not a concourse example, but a good usable one.
