www.bonhams.com/cgi-bin/public.sh/pubweb/publicSite.r

Auction description:
Sale 17263 - Collectors' Motor Cars, Motorcycles and Automobilia, 18 Nov 2009
Yorkshire Event Centre, Harrogate
Lot No: 411A
1960 Jaguar Mk2 3.4-Litre Saloon
Registration no. RBW 455
Chassis no. 151295DN
Engine no. KG 2874-8

Estimate: £7,000 - 9,000

A desirable manual/overdrive-equipped model, this 3.4-litre Mk2 benefits from past restoration although it is not known when the work was carried out. The engine is said to run well and the overdrive is in working order, and the car is described as in generally good condition, though the paintwork could do with refreshing. Finished in red/maroon metallic with matching leather interior, 'RBW 455' is offered with sundry expired MoTs, driver's handbook, current road fund licence, MoT to 19th March 2010 and Swansea V5. Glassfibre wheel spats are the only notified deviation from factory specification.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
