This 1960 Jaguar MK IX is described as a running project by its seller, who reportedly recovered it from a barn seven years ago. Power is from a 3.8L straight-six paired with a 4-speed GM TH700R4 automatic transmission, and work under current ownership has included a brake overhaul, new tires, and tune-up along with a recent oil and differential fluid change. This MK IX is offered with spare parts, a Jaguar-Daimler Heritage Trust certificate, and a Virginia title in the seller's name.
The car was originally finished in Indigo over Cotswold Blue according to the Heritage Trust certificate, and was repainted in its current blue and grey under previous ownership. The seller notes evidence of bodywork in the rocker panels and rust in the inner wheel wells, door bottoms, and trunk floor.
The seller has had the steel wheels sandblasted, repainted, and mounted with wide-whitewall bias-ply tires. New amber marker lights have been installed. Scratches on the right rear quarter panel have been painted over in a darker shade of blue as shown in a gallery close-up below.
The interior is finished in dark blue leather and the seller states that some of the panels have been replaced. The wood trim is described as being in fair condition and shown in detail in the gallery. A factory radio remains installed in the dash but does not operate. The 5-digit odometer shows approximately 62k miles.
The 3.8L straight-six is mated to a 4-speed GM 700R4 automatic transmission using a John's Cars adapter kit. One of the fuel tanks was cleaned and coated, a new fuel pump was installed, and a Pertronix electronic ignition was added under current ownership. The exhaust system has been refurbished, and recent work included a tune-up, an oil and filter change, and a differential fluid service.
The seller has rebuilt the brake master cylinder and wheel cylinders, installed a new vacuum booster, and replaced the brake lines, though the brakes have since stopped working properly and the car cannot be driven as is.
A Jaguar-Daimler Heritage Trust certificate is included, along with an XKs Unlimited rubber replacement kit and spare chrome trim. The car is titled as a 1958 model, reportedly due to an error by the previous owner.
