Ebay item 9/12/08
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-MKIX-1960-Jaguar-MK9-Restored-Reggie-Jackson-Poin ...
Current bid $3,950 reserve not met, 4 bids, 9 days left in auciton.

Sellers description:
1960 Jaguar MK IX Saloon (Sedan)
Original price $6,020.00
Number produced 10,009

This beautiful sedan was restored by Major League Baseball Hall of Fame star and auto aficionado Reggie Jackson. The Jaguar was also owned by the Grammy winning musical group The Pointer Sisters.

The sleek body lines are complemented by the two-tone white and silver paint scheme. This paint is nicely accented by the bright chrome bumpers, grill, and moldings.

An updated powertrain provides for easy reliable driving. The motor is a 327 cubic inch Chevy V8 with "fuelie" heads and features dual exhaust. The Turbo 400 3 speed automatic transmission provides smooth sailing and the power steering makes navigation a breeze.

Denman 4 inch wide white wall tires at all four corners keeps the Jaguar floating on air and stopping is not an issue with its four wheel disc brakes.

The plush interior is in very good condition with fold down arm rests, front and back. A wood dash with working instrumentation and lighting make for a nice contrast to the black leatherette seats. The wood theme is also featured in the door trim as well as seating. Passengers in the back seat have a storage compartment on the back of the front seat in addition to fold down seat trays. A hidden compartment with its own lighting conceals a vintage Blaupunt stereo and Clarion amplifier. The receipt and warranty information from the 1970's is still with the car.

The glass is in very good condition throughout the car with windows and controls in good working order.

Some other great features on this Jaguar include the classic Jaguar hood ornament, boastful horns, Lucas driving lights, sun roof, dual gas tank fillers, Lucas rear view mirror, and correct matching black California license plates.

Included with sale is a mountain of receipts dating back to the 1960's and also a few parts catalogs.

The car has a clear California title, it is registered through May 2009, and is free from any back fees.

This fine example of Jaguar styling is on exhibit in the Towe Auto Museum and is now ready to be added to your collection. Your purchase helps support the oldest nonprofit car museum in the West!

This vehicle consigned to the Towe Auto Museum, a non-profit organization located at 2200 Front Street, Sacramento, CA, where it is available for inspection. The vehicle is sold AS-IS with no warranty intended or implied by the consignor or the Towe Auto Museum.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
