Auction description:
Dore & Rees - Collector's Cars, Bradford-on-Avon, UK
14 March, 2026
1947 Jaguar Mark IV 2.5 Litre Saloon
Estimate £15,000 - £25,000
Registration Number: WSU 737
Chassis Number: 510243
Recorded Mileage: TBA
- From The Brian Ford Collection
- In current ownership for 14 years
An earlier 1947 example finished in Old English White with red trim, the more recent history of this 2.5 Litre Mark IV dates back to the 1990s in the West Midlands, later to be acquired by wedding hire firm AA Executive cars in Kent before being sold to Brian Ford in 2012. In the accompanying history file are maintenance notes from 2012 to 2017, MoTs and receipts dating back to the early 1990, current V5c and previous bill of sale. On the button and running nicely on test, this represents all in all a tidy and usable example of a most classic Jaguar saloon, with a small amount of room for minor cosmetic improvements to the paintwork and trim.
