This 1963 Jaguar MK X was reportedly ordered new from Hornburg Jaguar of Santa Monica, California with European delivery and was purchased by its current owner in 1975. Finished in metallic blue over tan vinyl, it is powered by a numbers-matching 3.8L inline-six paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. Features include a front badge bar, chrome bumpers, 14″ steel wheels, rear picnic tables, power windows, and power-assisted steering and four-wheel disc brakes. The car is said to have been stored for the last five years, and servicing in 2019 reportedly included an oil change, brake and fuel system work, and replacement of the fan belt and exhaust components. This MK X is now offered by the seller on behalf of its current owner with an owner’s manual, handwritten ownership notes, partial service records, and a clean California title.
The car wears an older repaint in Quartz Metallic Blue and features a front badge bar, quadruple headlights, fender-mounted mirrors, twin exhaust outlets, and chrome bumpers and trim. The seller notes numerous areas of cracked and chipped paint, and rust on the right-front wheel arch.
Silver-painted 14″ steel wheels with chrome trim rings and Jaguar-logo hubcaps wear whitewall tires that the seller states are in need of replacement. The car is equipped with independent rear suspension and power-assisted steering. Braking is provided by power-assisted discs at each corner, and the front calipers were reportedly rebuilt and the flex hoses were replaced in 2019.
The cabin was re-trimmed in tan vinyl during current ownership and features brown carpets and burl wood trim on the dashboard and doors. Appointments include a two-spoke steering wheel with a chrome horn ring, power windows, lap belts, and burl wood picnic tables for the rear occupants. There is a tear in the driver’s seat upholstery, the wood trim has deteriorated, the power windows function slowly, and the right-side C-pillar trim is torn. A personalized plate is affixed to the dashboard.
Instrumentation includes a 140-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 5,500-rpm redline, an ammeter, and gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 9k miles and was reset in 1996. Approximately 100k miles were reportedly driven during current ownership, and total mileage is unknown.
The numbers-matching 3.8L inline-six features triple SU carburetors and sends power to the rear wheels through a Borg Warner three-speed automatic transmission that was reportedly rebuilt in 2006. Servicing in 2019 is said to have included an oil change, replacement of the fan belt and exhaust components, and installation of an SU electric fuel pump in one of the fuel tanks. The other fuel tank is currently removed from the car and will require a replacement fuel pump to function.
The seller notes a rattling center shaft bearing and states that it needs to be replaced. Additional underside images can be viewed in the gallery.
An owner’s manual containing handwritten ownership notes is included in the sale along with partial service records and a trunk-mounted spare wheel and tire.

Lot #101662
This 1963 Jaguar MK X is said to have been ordered new from Hornburg Jaguar of Santa Monica, California, with European delivery and was acquired by the seller on BaT in July 2021. Finished in metallic blue over tan vinyl upholstery, the car is powered by a 3.8-liter inline-six paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes a front badge bar, chrome bumpers, 14″ steel wheels, Coker whitewall tires, triple SU carburetors, rear picnic tables, and power-assisted steering and four-wheel disc brakes. Work in preparation for sale is said to have included replacing the ignition and suspension components. This MK X is now offered with service records and a clean South Carolina title in the seller’s name.
The car was repainted in metallic blue in 1995 and features a front badge bar, a Leaper hood ornament, driving lights, fender-mounted mirrors, twin exhaust outlets, and chrome bumpers and trim. Cracked paint on the hood and touch-up paint discoloration on the trunk are viewable in the walk-around video.
Silver-painted 14″ steel wheels with chrome trim rings and Jaguar-logo hubcaps wear Coker Classic whitewall tires that are said to have been replaced during current ownership. The car is equipped with independent rear suspension and power steering. Braking is provided by power-assisted discs at each corner. Work in August 2022 is said to have included replacing the sway bar bushings and front shocks along with flushing and bleeding the brake system.
The cabin was re-trimmed in tan vinyl under previous ownership and features brown carpets and burl wood trim on the dashboard and doors. Appointments include power windows, lap belts, and burl wood picnic tables for the rear occupants. Noted imperfections include a tear in the driver’s seat upholstery, separating door panel trim, an inoperative right rear door handle and window, torn C-pillar trim, and a nonfunctional radio.
The two-spoke steering wheel frames a 140-mph speedometer and a tachometer, while auxiliary gauges are mounted in the center of the dashboard. The five-digit odometer shows 10k miles, approximately 100 of which were added during current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.
The 3.8-liter inline-six features triple SU carburetors. The seller states that the power steering pump leaks, and work in August 2022 is said to have included:
Replacing the ignition distributor points and condenser
Adjusting the ignition timing
Replacing the carburetor fuel inlet washers and one float bowl cap
Adjusting the carburetors
Replacing the power steering banjo washers
The engine stamp ZA9269-9 matches the engine number on the chassis tag shown in the gallery.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through an automatic three-speed Borg Warner transmission. The secondary fuel tank has been removed, and corrosion is visible on underside components. Work in August 2022 is said to have included performing a fluid service on the differential and replacing the subframe mounts and driveshaft center support.
Service records, a seal kit, and badges are included in the sale.

1963 Jaguar MK X Numbers Matching 3.8L Beautiful Example
Asking Price $18,000
Vehicle Location Saint Albans, WV
Seller tbailey07
VIN 352996BW
Mileage 99999
This 1963 Jaguar MK X is a beautiful example of British luxury, featuring the iconic numbers-matching 3.8L inline-six engine equipped with triple SU carburetors. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a three-speed automatic transmission. I purchased this vehicle in 2024, and it has since undergone significant cosmetic and mechanical refreshes to ensure it remains a premier vintage saloon. The Jaguar was reportedly ordered new from Hornburg Jaguar of Santa Monica, California with European delivery and was purchased by its current owner in 1975. Features include a front badge bar, chrome bumpers, 14″ steel wheels, rear picnic tables, power windows, and power-assisted steering and four-wheel disc brakes.
Exterior and Mechanicals The car has been repainted in its striking and correct Quartz Metallic Blue, a color that truly highlights the MK X’s sleek, wide lines. The mechanicals have been thoroughly addressed with a complete tune-up, resulting in a car that starts smoothly and runs very well. It features the classic front badge bar, quadruple headlights, and chrome bumpers. While the chrome shows some wear consistent with its age, it remains in good overall shape.
Interior and Appointments Inside, the cabin offers the peak of 1960s luxury, including power windows, power-assisted steering, and the signature burl wood picnic tables for rear passengers. During my ownership, the wood dash has been repaired, and all damaged carpeting has been replaced, greatly improving the interior presentation.
Areas for Improvement While this Jaguar is a real crowd pleaser at shows and presents very well, it is a strong #3 car with a few minor projects remaining for the next owner:
The right-side gas tank is included with the sale but is currently not installed.
The door panels have pulled away slightly in areas and require minor repair for a perfect fit.
The right rear window requires a new motor.
The driver-side sun visor is currently missing.
There are a few minor repair places needed within the interior, though the upholstery and trim are overall in very good condition.
This is a fantastic opportunity to own a well-sorted, eye-catching Jaguar MK X that is priced to sell. It comes with a clean title and represents a strong value for a collector or enthusiast looking for a classic that can be enjoyed immediately while finishing the final touches.
Features:
Numbers-matching 3.8L Inline-Six
Borg Warner 3-Speed Automatic Transmission
Independent Rear Suspension
