We are very proud to offer this gorgeous 1965 Jaguar Mark 2 Saloon having had a complete, professional nut-and-bolt restoration by Lex Classics in the Netherlands! Powered by its number's matching DOHC 3.8L engine with dual exhaust pipes, it provides 220 Horsepower and stout 240 lb. ft. of torque through a Borg Warner automatic transmission with overdrive and limited slip rear axle! This special Mark 2 also had the benefit of added options including power steering and upgraded 15" chrome wire wheels. Truly a sight to see, this Mark 2 has been restored to near perfection! Included is a photo album of just how in-depth and elegant the process was of bringing such a beautiful vehicle back to its well-deserved glory!

The original engine was made new again with all fresh internals and a thorough cleaning. The carburetors rebuilt along with oil seals and all gaskets replaced. All new brake components and lines were installed. Rear axle internals were rebuilt. The body was stripped of its original Black paint and finished in a spectacular Gun Metal Gray. The exquisite interior was completely reupholstered in new Cognac Leather, refinished wood trim, and fresh weather stripping throughout. Chrome moldings, door handles, and bumpers were re-plated or replaced. New rubber mounts and new suspension parts were fitted. The exhaust system was replaced along with new taillights and headlamps. With exception to the addition of modern air conditioning components and upgraded radiator with Evans waterless cooling system, everything was tastefully redone to original Jaguar specifications. Nothing was left untouched throughout the process.

Any Jaguar enthusiast or beginning collector alike will appreciate the energy and workmanship that went into this piece of history, and how it was so meticulously restored to such a remarkable state!

This 1964 Jaguar Mk II was built in May 1964 and subsequently was dispatched to a distributor in New York. Decades later, the car was refurbished in the Netherlands during the 2010s. Finished in metallic gray over tan leather, the vehicle is powered by a 3.8-liter inline-six linked to a three-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential. Power steering and air conditioning have been added, and additional modifications include an alternator, an aluminum radiator, an auxiliary electric cooling fan, an auxiliary oil cooler, and a stainless-steel exhaust system. Other equipment includes dual SU carburetors, 15″ wire wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, wood interior trim, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, and a Becker AM/FM radio. A family member of the seller purchased the Jaguar out of Missouri in 2022. The transmission subsequently was rebuilt, the suspension bushings were replaced, and the brakes were overhauled. This Mk II is now offered by the seller on behalf of the owner with a Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate, refurbishment photos, and a Florida title in the owner’s name.

Finished from the factory in Black, the car was stripped and repainted in metallic gray during the aforementioned refurbishment. Exterior equipment includes a Leaper hood ornament, a pop-up cowl vent, door-mounted side mirrors, dual exhaust outlets, and chrome wraparound bumpers with overriders as well as a chrome grille, window surrounds, and trim. The seller points out a rust spot on the trunk lid about the size of a pencil eraser.

Chrome-finished 15″ wire wheels are mounted with 235/75 Michelin tires. Power steering and Koni shocks have been added. The bushings for the control arms, sway bar, and Panhard rod were replaced in 2023, as were the ball joints, track-bar tie rods, and rear-axle seals. Cobalt brake calipers also were installed around the same time, and the brake pads were replaced.

The cockpit features front bucket seats and a rear bench trimmed in tan leather upholstery along with color-coordinated door panels. Wood veneers adorn the dashboard, door caps, and window frames. Aftermarket air conditioning has been added, and other interior equipment includes a Becker Europa AM/FM radio, front seatbelts, front and rear vent windows, and brown carpeting.

The wood-rimmed steering wheel fronts Smiths instrumentation consisting of a 140-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer with an inset analog clock, and centrally positioned auxiliary gauges displaying water temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and amperage. The five-digit odometer shows 71k miles, approximately 1k of which were added under current ownership.

The 3.8-liter inline-six was overhauled during the aforementioned refurbishment and is fueled by dual SU carburetors augmented by a dual-snorkel Coopers Cleaner air-filter setup. The electrical system utilizes an alternator, and an aluminum radiator, an auxiliary electric cooling fan, an auxiliary oil cooler, and a stainless-steel exhaust system have been added. Coolant hoses and the battery were replaced in 2023. A cutoff switch has been added for the trunk-mounted battery.

The Borg-Warner three-speed automatic transmission was rebuilt in 2023. The seller notes that the transmission drips fluid.

The Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate lists serial numbers, factory colors, distribution through New York, and a manufacture date of May 27, 1964.

The car’s chassis number is P223735BW, whereas the Florida title cites the VIN as 223735BW, omitting the prepending letter P. The title lists the vehicle’s model year as 1965 and also notes “Exempt” in the Odometer Status box.
