Car to be at auction 8/26

www.iconicauctioneers.com/1967-daimler-2-5v8-rec17349-3-silverston-0826

The Classic Sale at CarFest 2026

1967 Daimler 2.5 V8

A beautifully presented Daimler 2.5 V8 finished in elegant Opalescent Silver Grey with red leather, accompanied by a pleasing history file and powered by the wonderfully characterful Edward Turner-designed V8.

ESTIMATE: £6,000 - £8,000

Registration Number KHW 561E

MOT Expiry Exempt

Chassis Number 1AH369BW

Transmission Automatic

Body Colour Opalescent Silver Grey

First registered in 1967 and originally supplied by Steels of Bristol Ltd, this Daimler 2.5 V8 is presented in elegant Opalescent Silver Grey with a red leather interior

Developed following Jaguar's acquisition of Daimler, the 2.5 V8 combined the acclaimed Mk2 bodyshell with Edward Turner's smooth and distinctive 2,548cc hemispherical-head V8 engine

Featuring four-wheel disc brakes, independent front suspension and a Panhard rod-located live rear axle, the 140bhp V8 offered refined performance with a top speed of approximately 115mph

The interior appears to retain much of its original trim, aside from what is believed to be a replacement headlining, and has developed a lovely period patina throughout

Accompanied by its original service book together with a history file containing historic MOT Certificates dating back to the late 1970s

Recent maintenance includes removal and cleaning of the fuel tank, flushing of the fuel system and attention to the front braking system

Displaying just over 40,000 miles at the time of cataloguing

MOT exempt due to its historic vehicle status, with its last MOT expiring in June 2026 and very little use since

A charming and increasingly sought-after British sporting saloon, offering elegant styling, a wonderfully smooth V8 engine and exceptional value in today's classic car market

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
