The 1967 Jaguar 3.8 S is still a lavish sedan having the soul of a sports car. It was innovative in its time with the adoption of such upgrades as unitary construction, four-wheel independent suspension, and four-wheel disc brakes.

This 1967 Jaguar 3.8 S is a well-preserved restoration owned since 1998 by the seller. The body has been repaired of any rust with new panels and paint. New headliner, new leather and cushioning on the front seats, new carpet and door seals were installed approximately 10 years ago. All gauges function properly, as does the heating system. The brakes function properly with new hoses and calipers for the front set, and the master cylinder and brake booster have been replaced. Also replaced are the suspension bushings and dampers. Rack and pinion power steering has been installed and operates well with no play. The odometer currently reads 78,000 miles.

This 1967 Jaguar 3.8 S contains a 3.8-liter inline-six engine which was rated at 220 horsepower when new, and could attain a top speed of over 115 mph. Today, the dual-overhead-cam engine starts easily with the automatic choke. The 3-speed automatic transmission functions properly. The vehicle has been refitted with an alternator. There is some evidence of oil and transmission fluid seepage. The radiator has been replaced and an electric fan installed.

The vehicle was painted about 10 years ago in the original burgundy color. There are some very minor blemishes, but the finish is lustrous and in good condition. Glass and lighting are in good condition, as is the chrome which was restored at the time of repainting. As previously mentioned, the seals are new. This Jaguar has wire wheels that have been overhauled and tuned by Dayton.

A clean Texas title in the seller’s name will be provided upon the sale.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
