Estimate: £10,000 - £12,000

This Jaguar S-type, registered in January 1968, was a father and son project that sadly couldn't be completed due to health reasons. The restoration was started about 10 years ago, from the ground up, New sills and floors were fitted, along with lower wings and door skins, and then everything was painted to a very high standard. All the suspension has been replaced or reconditioned, with the rear axle also having a reconditioned LSD. The engine has been professionally rebuilt with a rebore, new pistons, crankshaft stripped of plugs, cleaned and reground, and put back together with new valve seats and valves. Invoices for this work are included in the history folder. There are five new Vredestein tyres and reconditioned red leather seats. The car comes with the majority of parts to complete, although the exhaust manifolds have been coated, there is no exhaust present. The history folder includes the V5C, owner's handbook, Haynes workshop manual and Autopress Ltd workshop manual, and Practical Classics & Car Restorer Jaguar MkII restoration manual. There's also a file of invoices and an old silver-on-black numberplate and the original chassis plate.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
