www.historics.co.uk/buying/auctions/2020-03-07/cars/ref-58-1967-jaguar-s-type-38 ...

Auction description:

1967 Jaguar S-Type (3.8 litre)

Lot 249

Registration PKE 276F

Chassis Number 1B59596DN

Engine Number Tbc

Odometer reading 1,972 miles

Estimate £11,000 - £15,000

Ascot Racecourse March 7th 2020

Manual gearbox with overdrive

Power steering

Restored in 2002

Originally registered on 15th December 1967, this Jaguar was subject to a restoration in 2002 and has covered only 6,000 miles since. The engine was professionally overhauled with invoices to confirm, the gearbox, rear axle and suspension have also been overhauled. A stainless steel exhaust system has been fitted and we are advised the manual gearbox is fitted with overdrive, this Jaguar also benefits from power steering. Finished in British Racing Green with contrasting red interior, PKE 276F is supplied with a V5C registration document together with a history folder and the original factory handbook. Forming part of a private collection for a number of years, this car may require a little recommissioning. Police forces throughout the country also used Jaguar S-Types due to the swift performance, good road-holding and reliability.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
