Saw this Jaguar MK II on Rochester Craigslist. Going to see it later today. Was for sale at Fall 2011 Hershey for $18600. The car is a left hand drive 2.4 liter sedan with manual tranny. Body seems nice- needs interior work. Was told it runs. Dan

Current bid $1,027 reserve not met 3 bids 6 days left in auction. 74k miles. Car now in McKeesport. Pennsylvania.

    Sellers description:
Listed for sale by Coventry Garage LLC, is a 1960 JAGUAR 2.4 MK II Sedan that is in wonderful condition. We are offering it for sale with the "BUY IT NOW PRICE" OF $14,000.00. This car was originally owned in Paris France, brought to the states by a returning U.S. soldier and sold to the previous (third) owner in 1966. This car is a great platform for a restoration project- it comes with an entire new Bartlett leather interior to be installed. This car needs a new exhaust system, brake work, gas tank cleaned and interior work to be a BEAUTIFUL driver. This car starts right up, runs well and we have driven it around our lot. This 2.4 liter MK II configuration is rarely seen in the USA because Jaguar never officially imported the 2.4 liter cars to the USA. This car is a 4 speed manual and is a matching numbers car.

This car has all of its factory original components: consisting of a 4 speed manual transmission and 2 carburetor 6 cylinder in line Jaguar 2.4 liter engine. It has a Cotswold Blue exterior with a black interior and lots of wood in the interior. The car shows only 74250 miles on the working odometer. This car runs great, starts quickly and shifts nicely. This car is a very original car- although the car was repainted in 1986 in its original color - the paint shows very well. The interior is original but the interior seats and carpeting need re-done/restored. The interior dashboard wood needs restored and the original AM/FM radio is still in the car. The paint shines very well. The steel wheels, hub caps, and jack are in excellent condition for their age. The car is very presentable as it sits and with a little work, could be a very nice "driver" condition car. The car has 4 newer tires but needs brake work to be driven daily. The Car# on this car is 125994; the Body # is 1851; the engine # is BG7266-8; the transmission # is 42448JS. This car is a left hand drive car.

We have just changed the engine oil and oil filter and installed the newer tires. The car runs very well, shifts nicely and brakes somewhat using the handbrake; the master cylinder and brake system needs restored although the calipers were restored in 1986. We found this car being stored in a garage in Rochester, NY. by the third owner. He owned the car since 1966. There is VERY LITTLE RUST under this car; the floors, sills, door bottoms, trunk, front "crow's feet", and rear suspension mounts are all in nice shape. The spare tire, jack and jacking tools as well as the original round tool box and owner's manual are still with the car and will go to the new owners. There is one small rust hole under the back seat area, where it looks like the exhaust rubbed or something may have been wrapped around the drive shaft making the hole. The hole is about 3" X 3" round and above the muffler on the rear driver side floor area. All of the lights work, all of the gauges work and all of the chrome shines very nicely. The previous owner had this car for 45 years - it was his first car. He sold it to us because he is downsizing and going to Florida.

THE CAR COMES WITH A NEW BARTLETT INTERIOR THAT THE PREVIOUS OWNER BOUGHT IN 1986. In 1986 he had the car re-painted, brake work performed and had the car inspected so he could drive the car. All the glass and chrome are in nice original condition. We do have more photos of the floors from underneath the car and can send them to you. The floors are in very nice condition especially at the jacking point connections and the front foot areas where rust usually forms. There are no signs that these floors, sills or trunk/boot area were ever worked on as they are in very nice condition. The floors and rear spare tire well are in great shape. There are no holes in the trunk area. The gas tank does not seem to leak BUT IT NEEDS CLEANED OUT AS THE CAR IS RUNNING ON GASOLINE FED FROM A SEPARATE GAS CAN- NOT FROM THE GAS TANK. The spats or rear wheel skirts are in great condition. The car does leak some motor oil and does leak some transmission fluid as all older British cars tend to do but the engine does not smoke or overheat.

We have tried to describe this car as accurately as possible; all the good and bad features have been addressed in this advertisement. PLEASE REMEMBER THAT this car is now 52 years old. Please do not ask us if the car can be driven home to Florida or Arizona. The car cannot be driven very far as it sits- it needs brake work to be driven. Remember that all of the electrics were made by Lucas and are original to the car; all of the suspension is original too. If you come out to see this 2.4 MARK II sedan we can put the car up on our lift for you so you can view the car from underneath.

We bought this car from the third owner who owner the car since 1966. It can be a nice driver with very little work. It is a rare 2.4 liter manual transmission model originally delivered/sold in France.
