1959 Jaguar Mark 1. An 82,337 original manual 4-speed survivor with much new work done. All new suspension, brakes, harmonic balancer, black racing wheels and a battery shut off switch. It is an absolute joy to drive. I have all the (original) paperwork and receipts for the most current work done including the contact info of Jag specialist who did all the work in CA. Currently shut down ( for approx 2 years ) because it needs new gas tank, fuel filter needs to be installed. ( New gas tank has been purchased already and comes with the car ). When running, -it's runs fantastic. Has a little rust here and there except for (under) the (front only) drivers and passengers doors sides. I also have brand new in-the-box door skins to fix those doors which also comes with the purchase of the vehicle. Needs new battery. This is an extremely cool car to drive and take to shows. Interior is in fair condition but would reccomend sprucing up a bit. The rubber around the windows should eventually be replaced. Wanted to keep this car and finish it but the price of putting kids through college “got in the way”. Total invested in the car about 60K. Asking 30K. You will be getting a real deal.
ASKING PRICE $27,000

This 1959 Jaguar Mk I saloon was purchased new by a resident of Wellesley Hills, Massachusetts, and it is powered by a 3.4-liter inline-six linked with a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive. Finished in Cotswold Blue over blue leather, the car is equipped with black-painted 15″ wire wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, Lucas driving lights, wood interior trim, and dual SU carburetors. The suspension and the brakes were overhauled in 2020, and the clutch was replaced. The seller purchased the car in 2021, and the fuel system was cleaned in preparation for the sale. This Mk I is now offered at no reserve with a Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust certificate, an owner’s manual, service records, spare door skins and other parts, a tool kit, and a California title in the seller’s name.
Finished from the factory in Cotswold Blue, the car has received touch-up work over the years, the seller states. Exterior equipment includes Lucas driving lights, a Leaper hood ornament, fender-mounted side mirrors, a pop-up cowl vent, dual exhaust outlets, and chrome wraparound bumpers with overriders as well as a chrome grille, window surrounds, and trim. Rust is noted on the lower portions of the doors. Only one high-beam headlamp works, the windshield washers are inoperable, the passenger-side taillamp lens is missing, the hood is dented, and the paint is cracked; these and other imperfections are visible.
Black-painted 15″ wire wheels are mounted with 6.00–15 Dunlop Racing CR65 Mark II tires that were replaced in 2020. The car was factory equipped with an independent front suspension and a trailing-link rear suspension. The front and rear disc brakes were replaced in 2020, as were the brake hoses and lines. Other work conducted in 2020 involved replacement of the suspension bushings as well as the springs, ball joints, upper spring clamp, reinforcing channel, and rear wheel bearings. A thicker front sway bar, an adjustable track bar, and reconditioned drop links were installed, and the rear-chassis spring perch was reinforced.
The cockpit features front bucket seats and a rear bench trimmed in blue leather upholstery along with color-coordinated door panels. Burl walnut veneers adorn the dashboard, door caps, and window frames. Other interior equipment includes front and rear vent windows, a heater, a lidded glovebox, door-panel armrests, front lap belts, sun visors, blue carpeting, and floor mats. The rear interior lights do not work.
The four-spoke steering wheel fronts a storage cubby, and the centrally located Smiths instrumentation includes a 120-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer with an integrated clock, an ammeter, and gauges for fuel level, oil pressure, and coolant temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 82k miles, approximately 4,500 of which were added under current ownership. The tachometer generator and the oil-pressure gauge were replaced in 2021.
The 3.4-liter XK inline-six was factory rated at 210 horsepower and 213 lb-ft of torque and is equipped with dual SU carburetors. The following work has been conducted in recent years:
2020
Replace engine mounts
Install battery cut-off switch
Replace line for oil-pressure gauge
2021
Replace crankshaft dampener
Rebuild carburetors
Replace ignition leads
Replace ignition points and condenser
Replace distributor rotor arm
Replace hose clamps
Replace radiator cap
January 2026
Replace fuel tank
Clean and reassemble fuel pump
Replace battery
Power is routed to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive. The clutch and slave cylinder were replaced in 2020–2021. Corrosion is visible on underbody components.
Removed rear-wheel spats and replacement door skins are among the spares that will accompany the vehicle.
The Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust certificate lists the factory colors, identification numbers, and a build date of June 25, 1959, along with distribution via New York to the first owner in Massachusetts.
The California registration expired in 2022.
