Ebay item 2/12/15
www.ebay.com/itm/Jaguar-Other-MK-1-Under-a-tree-in-the-backyard-find-/3216672992 ...
Opening bid US $2,000.00
Reserve not met no bids 6 days left in auction, buy it now price $6,500. 45k miles.

Sellers description:
Original 1958 Jaguar MK1 4 door Salon 2 tone grey with 45,000 original miles this is an under the trees in the backyard find not a barn find I have cleaned it up a bit the brakes were done rebuilt disc brake calipers and pads (1st year disc brakes for Jaguar ) we put gas in it runs and drives but it does have a lot of old gas in it. It doesn't smoke shifts good but I would recommend changing all the fluids and flushing the gas tank. The person we got it from was restoring it so most of the wood is redone and nice the upholstery is cloth grey Mohair and the headliner is new. Tires look new but are at least 15 years old. It comes with about 10 hubcaps some new some old. The chrome is mostly there all though it needs plating. It is missing the Radio, right front turn signal lens, and trim around the rear window. This car shows no significant body damage or rust is extremely solid even the truck is padded and carpeted. I took this car as part of a bail bond and am now trying to recoup my losses I have set a reserve that I feel is low enough for someone to get a good deal.

Ebay item 8/5/24

www.ebay.com/itm/305711060780

Opening bid US $5,000 reserve not met no bids 6 days left in auction, seller bici1000 45k miles, car now in Bantam, Connecticut, previously Redlands, California, mileage unchanged

Seller's description:

Brakes are all new and the whole system was completely rebuilt in the modt recent restoration (discs all round). We don't know about mileage on the engine, but it is mechanically excellent. Camshaft is in beautiful condition and the rest indicates it has few miles since last rebuild.

With the exception of the roof liner that is actually made from a premium "angora" material and beautifully fitted (not an easy fix usually), it's safe to say, that the car will need a complete interior trim kit. The good news is that the seats and panels are in excellent structural shape so you can either remove them and ship them to a specialist wherever that may be or order the kits in and have it done more locally.

The dashboard wood is in very good shape though.

The paint is good enough and what I would call "fair" - certainly not concourse, but you can drive it this way for as long as you please meaning it's not crying out for a respray.

We just recently chromed most of the brightwork. We replaced the front bumper with one that had a good chrome, but the rear one will need a re-chrome. It's not terrible.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
