Listed on ebay as an S-Type Mark 3.
Ebay Item number: 120120448578
5/18/07 current bid $1,200

Seller Description:
Super classic 1959 Jaguar MK III Saloon sedan 4dr. 182K original miles. Automatic. Please pardon my ignorance to cover specific details of the car, but I am not very car-savvy so I am relying on my friend's help to post it.

The car has been stored for the last 5 yrs. I have had it in the garage since I obtained it, with the intention of restoring it. I paid $6,500 at that time, but realize that I do not have the time (or the EX-husband now!) to have it properly restored.

The main drawback is someone's idea of an attempt at restoration, badly done.

The body is very straight, with no visible rust I could detect, on either engine bay, floorboards, doorsills, quarters or trunk. It will need to be refinished properly, as there are some small areas where body filler was applied at one time, and not properly finished. The paint job was also very poorly done, and will need to be stripped and painted the right way.

The interior is fairly decent, interestingly looks like original red/black leather, with most of its interior trim where it's supposed to be.

The original dash and gauges are still present, as is the original steering wheel. Headliner is solid, and not torn to shreds, but looks like it was redone, and not properly anchored. It will need to be relaid.

All the running gear is complete, minus the Air cleaner box, which I could not find.(It may be somewhere in the garage; if it comes up, I WILL include it with the car).

The car is CALIFORNIA, Clear CA titled, and also CURRENTLY registered and licensed thru 2007.

I have listed this car with a very modest reserve, taking into account that it will be a restoration project, although it is a fairly solid starting platform, with most of its stuff complete.

I am not expecting to obtain what I paid for it, and need to sell it to park my new car inside.

I can assist with NATIONWIDE and OVERSEAS delivery, at the shippers' basic cost.

Payment to be received within FIVE days of the auctions' end, NO EXCEPTIONS.

Payment to be made by cashier's check, money orders, bank drafts or cash.

Personal or business /C.C checks are ok but MUST clear funds prior to delivery/ pick up of vehicle or release of the title to the buyer.

Upon receipt of payment, I will IMMEDIATELY send the title and bill of sale to the buyer. California title is on hand.

Bidding ended at $2025 after 7 bids.
The car did not meet the reserve.
Perhaps, if the owner will try again, and list it correctly, they may have better luck!

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
