Jaguar. Build date - Feb 7, 1957 at Browns Lane factory a week before the factory was destroyed in a fire. This was the 275th 3.4L built for export to America. Lefthand drive, automatic. I've owned it for 27 years and finished restoring it in 1996. The 27 year old paint looks wonderful for its age, but there is some bubbling under the paint at the lower edge of the doors and rust under the rocker panels and jack points (see pictures), which is visible from under the car. If you are not showing this car in concours class, it's a great car to take to local or JCNA shows in the driven class. When you look at the pictures you can see the wood, leather, and interior are in near perfect condition. It is a very dependable driver. A few years ago I purchased a completely rebuilt motor, built by the JCNA slolam champion, rebuilt the carbs, and recored the radiator, and this spring I had the braking system rebuilt, as well as the tac and speedometer. I had it aligned and added new tires. It was all ready to go then COVID -19 came along. I'm downsizing and losing garage space, so my car has to go. I will happily negotiate with someone who will love this car as much as I have.
Price: $18,500 negotiable

This 1956 Jaguar Mk I was refurbished under prior ownership and has been fitted with a 3.4-liter inline-six that is linked with a rebuilt three-speed automatic transmission. The car spent time in multiple collections before its 2024 acquisition by the selling dealer and has been refinished in green over tan leather. It is equipped with fog lights, rear wheel spats, front bucket seats, a wood-trimmed dashboard, and dual SU carburetors. This Mk I is now offered in Pennsylvania by the selling dealer with over $14k in service records from the last two years and a clean Maryland title.
The car was repainted green under prior ownership, and exterior equipment includes a Leaper hood ornament, fog lights, a pop-up cowl vent, fender-mounted side mirrors, and front and rear chrome wraparound bumpers with overriders as well as a chrome grille, window surrounds, trim, and dual exhaust outlets.
Body-color 15″ wheels are mounted with 195/70 Continental VancoFourSeason tires. The car was factory equipped with an independent front suspension and a trailing link rear suspension. The brakes were bled in 2023.
The cockpit features front bucket seats and a rear bench trimmed in tan leather upholstery along with color-coordinated door panels. Burl walnut veneers adorn the dashboard, door caps, and window frames, and interior appointments include a heater and front and rear vent windows.
The four-spoke steering wheel fronts a storage cubby, and the centrally located Smiths instrumentation includes a 120-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer with an integrated clock, an ammeter, and gauges for fuel level, oil pressure, and coolant temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 9k miles, approximately 75 of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.
The 3.4-liter inline-six was installed under prior ownership and is equipped with dual SU carburetors. The oil was changed in preparation for the sale. Work in 2023 included replacing the exhaust system, battery, freeze plugs, heater hoses, distributor cap and rotor, and torque converter. Power is routed to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission that was rebuilt in 2023.
