Car to be at auction 12/25
online.doningtonauctions.com.au/m/lot-details/index/catalog/262/lot/66969
Auction description:
1959 Jaguar Mark I 2.4 Saloon Project
Partially restored car with new paint
From a NSW Jaguar collection
Offered with No Reserve
Chassis no. S913155BW
Engine no. BC7899-8 (cylinder head, not sighted on block)
Purchased back in May 2015 and previously registered in QLD, this 1959 Jaguar Mark I 2.4-litre automatic was described as a “daily driver” by the seller and has undergone considerable refurbishment over the past ten years. Receipts on file indicate the body was stripped and repainted in the current shade of dark blue by Phil Cribb Panels of Walwa, Victoria in 2016 at a cost of just over $16,000 and there are numerous other receipts for parts supplied in the history file. Lots of money has evidently been spent on chrome, new glass and other trim while the black upholstery, door cards and carpets look to be in good shape but there is no headliner fitted.
With most of the expensive bodywork done, this Mark I project should prove relatively straightforward to complete. A large quantity of parts will be supplied with the car, including the doors and rear bumper and various smaller items (including the missing dash and timberwork) as photographed.
The Jaguar will be sold unregistered and with No Reserve. Please note the car is located in Berridale, NSW and must be collected on site by arrangement with Donington Auctions.
