This fine example represents an increasingly rare matching number car with the highly desirable early wider type cast grill. This early Mk. I has spent it's whole life in Yorkshire and was bought by its first owner from Appleyards (of Appleyard Racing fame) in November 1956. He kept it for just one year before (presumably) part exchanging it for another Jaguar in December 1956. For the next two years it was registered to Appleyards. In December 1959, its second private owner took delivery and was to keep it for twenty-six years before passing it on to its 3rd private owner in July 1985. Ten years later, it's last owner acquired it in March 1995. Documented and supported by all its MoT test certificates, it has covered just 50,000 miles. Overall condition is testament to the enthusiastic owners who have preserved and maintained it. Presented in its factory ordered Dove Grey coachwork and original contrasting red leather trim, its factory specification includes close ratio gearbox, overdrive, valve radio, 'automatic' ariel, cockpit operated radiator blind, fog lights and centre spot light. Complete with full ownership history, original buff log book, original handbook, original factory tuning handbook, virtually all MoT test certificates from 1966, two sets of spats and complete original tool kit.
