It is the rarity that has propelled these early cars often beyond their elder brothers and why, in this instance, an extensive and thorough restoration has taken place by marque specialists, Jacob Engineering, at a cost of £40,000. Not only is this one of the finest Mk. I Jaguars available on the market today but it also represents one of the very earliest built and, indeed, is thought to be a pre-production model, it being number 79 off the production line. The 2.4 litre engine is mated to a four speed manual gearbox and also features some extremely rare features such as a steel sunroof, rear spats and factory-fitted fog lamps. Receipts exist for all work carried out and an extensive history file accompanies the car. Finished in British Racing Green with matching green leather interior, this really is one for the Jaguar collector.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
