Ebay item 2/28/12

Current bid $6,100 reserve not met, 13 bids 5 days left in auction.

Sellers description:
1962 Jaguar MK 2, 3.8 liter automatic in very good condition. My car was professionally appraised in January of 2009 as Very Good and has been driven 2000 miles since. It was found to be in very good condition on a rating scale of Show Quality (not driven - trailer used), Excellent (insignificant minor flaws - rarely driven, Very Good (Minor signs of wear - driven occasionally), Good, Fair and Poor.

The car is mostly original except for several excellent safety and driveability updates:

XJ6 Power Rack and Pinion Steering
Modern Retractable seat belts
Jaguar XKE Front Seats with headrests
Kenwood AM/FM 6 Disc CD Player with power antenna
Modern Air Conditioning with rotary air compressor with hidden switches
Battery relocated to trunk with original factory cover

The car runs very well, shifts properly, all the gauges and switches function as well as all the lights. The interior is in excellent shape, finished in dark blue leather. The wood is all complete as well as the chrome. The wire wheels are tuned properly and does not vibrate or shake even at 80 mph.

The car has very minor paint bubbles on the lower area of both rear doors but has no rust elsewhere. The locks all work, front and rear door glass all functional.

Prior to purchasing this car, I looked at at least twenty five other Mk 2's which I passed on but purchased this one as a retirement gift to myself the same day that I saw it. Plans have changed and if my reserve price is met, I am willing to let go of the Mk 2.

The car can be inspected in the San Francisco Mid Peninsula

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
