Car returns to ebay 3/22/07 cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll
Current bid $3,049, no reserve, 6 bids, 6 days left in auction. Car now said to be located in Saint Simons Island, Georgia.
Sellers description;
1962 Jaguar Mark II, 3.8 Automatic. It has 103,000 original miles on it, and has been sitting in a storage building since 1971, when the previous owner removed the head to do a valve job. The head, with carbs still attached, was stored in the trunk. He never did anything further after removing the head, and that's how the car remains. All the original engine parts that were removed are still in the trunk. The interior is very salvageable with a little upholstery conditioner. The interior wood is excellent with no rot. It just needs to be lightly sanded and varnished to look like new again. The only areas of rust I could find on the car include a small area at the bottom rear of both rear fenders, right where they meet the rear part of the fender skirts (the fender skirts are rust-free), and a few small spots on the exterior doors, about a third of the way up from the bottom. The bottoms of the doors, as well as the rocker panels, sills, inner fender wells, and floors, are rust-free. This car has power steering, and it also has factory cruise control! (There is a factory toggle on the left side of the dash near the door that has directions for setting speed for cruising.) I have not tried to turn the engine over, but I'm sure it is not frozen because the previous owner poured oil in the six cylinders when he removed the head, and the oil is still sitting on top of the pistons with no rust at all in the cylinders or on the top of the block. This car is an excellent candidate for restoration since it has never been damaged in an accident and has no major rust issues. Georgia doesn’t issue Titles for cars this old, but a Bill of Sale will be given to the buyer, which should suffice to obtain a Title in those states that require one.
Previous auction ended at $1,525 after 15 bids.
