Ebay tiem 4/10/17 www.ebay.com/itm/1961-Jaguar-Mark-2-4-doors-/292081510013
Opening bid US $35,000 reserve not met no bids 6 days left in auction, seller bernarchartie_9, 71k miles.
Sellers description:
I bought this car in 2000, it was functional. The car counted as 69,500 miles. According to the records I would be the third owner, a judge from Kingston, Ontario, then a collector and finally me.
I undertook a complete restoration which took place over 7 years. I brought the certificate of authenticity from "Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust" in England to know all the details of this car. The restoration, at the level of competition, was carried out with specialists in English mechanics and by a seasoned coachbuilder.
The original "Costwoold Blue" color, trimmed with a red leather interior, is an unusual combination. This was not included in the company's color chart, it was certainly a special order. Built in October 1960, it was delivered to the parent company of "Jaguar Canada" in Toronto at the end of that year. This car was probably a presentation car for the 1961 Canadian car shows because the certificate does not present any details of the first buyer.
Each part was disassembled, cleaned and refurbished. The bodywork was mounted on a rotisserie and stripped to bare metal, bodywork sheets that were excessively corroded were replaced by original parts. The engine, transmission, differential, brakes, steering, electricity, servo brake, servo steering, chrome, everything was restored to new. The car has only 2,480 miles since its restoration. The serial numbers are corresponding. The leathers of the front seats are new, I kept the back seat intact, as it showed no damage and allows to keep a small cachet of originality. The woodwork has been carefully sanded and varnished according to the rules of the art.
I added new spokes wheels (essential element on such a car) mounted on "Vredestein classic" tires and more I have a set of 5 steel wheels in the car color mounted with tires "Goodyear"4 vintage nylon folds.
This car is a quality contest and won a few honors in Stowe, Vermont and Kingston, Ontario, where she won the Best of Show.
It was evaluated by professionals with the A1 rating.

Please note that this lot is titled as a 1961.
This beautiful Jaguar Mark 2 was originally delivered to a judge in Kingston, Ontario, in late 1960, equipped with the 3.8-liter inline six mated to a smooth Borg-Warner automatic transmission. Bernard Chartier of Quebec City discovered the car in Kingston and acquired it in 2001, then began a complete nut-and-bolt restoration, lasting over five years and undertaken to concours standards. The car was confirmed by inspection to have its original numbers-matching head and block, as noted on the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust certificate, and to have been originally finished in the exceptionally attractive livery of Cotswold Blue over a red leather interior.
Mr. Chartier's exhaustive restoration involved hundreds of hours of labor in which every mechanical component was gone through, rebuilt, or restored using correct parts, including a correct engine rebuild, all accomplished by the owner and knowledgeable friends from the Jaguar Club in Ottawa. All is documented by a meticulous file of photographs and receipts for parts and materials that alone cost over $30,000.
Between 2007 and 2009, the car was judged at the British Invasion in Stowe, Vermont, winning 3rd in 2007 and 2nd in 2009. After each judging, Mr. Chartier would work to correct the recorded deficiencies, and in 2011, at the 21st British Invasion, he scored 1st Place with the car. In five years it was driven about 2,500 miles, and always kept in heated winter storage. Recently it was brought to Arizona, and reportedly was road-tested and drove beautifully at 65 mph. It is offered with the aforementioned JDHT certificate and records, as well as a correct tool set, jack, and spare.
This is one of the finest Mark 2s available today, a testament to the fine craftsmanship and dedication of an enthusiast for whom only the best was acceptable.
