Ebay item 3/17/08 cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-MarkII-1960-Jaguar-MK2-3-8L-Saloon-SWEET-CAR_W0QQ ...
Opening bid $18,900 reserve not met, no bids yet, 4 days left in auction.
Sellers description:
Description* 6-cylinder 3.8L; automatic transmission; dual S.U.carbs; power steering; 4 wheel disc brakes; stainless steel dual exhaust system. 72 spoke wheels.
Details & modifications. In 1975 a new rebuilt engine was installed; in 1988 the performance- inhibiting Borg-Warner transmission (J3B6999) was modified to improve everyday driving with a 700 R4 GM 4 speed overdrive (GM T700). For the purist at heart it can easily be converted back to a Borg-Warner. Steering was modified with a more modern MkII Rack & Pinion Conversion Power Kit. Shift quadrant is from an XJ-6.
Restoration work. Radiator rebuilt, auxillary electric fan added for Texas heat. Suspension reconditioned to Jag specs, in great shape. Power-disc brakes rebuilt and functional. Shock absorbers are new. Twin S.U. carbs were installed in '07, new fuel pump, fuel line, new gas tank; installed new toggle choke switch; new stainless steel exhaust system; new battery, new thermostat, new distributor. New tires. Fog lights changed out to amber lamps.
Body. Original, in good condition. Minor bubbling lower corner ext. door. Axle clean. Chrome is good but for scuff marks rear bumper. Window hinges show signs of pitting, and somehow a ding got the windshield.
Interior. Clean, luxurious. Original polished burl walnut paneling and trim. Flush fitted pull-out tables in rear, handy for writing checks. New wool carpeting, new vinyl upholstery, new red welting.
Not functioning. Speedometer/odometer, zeroed out when engine rebuilt, reads 3,937 miles, estimated 2,000 more. Tachometer functions. Original radio needs antennae lead. Trunk mount A/C system installed in '77 with air vents and control knob unit, lacks compressor.
