Lot #91969
This 1968 Jaguar 340 is finished in grey over a blue leather interior and is powered by a 3.4-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes dual SU carburetors, 15″ wheels, chrome bumpers, wood cabin trim, and a JVC CD stereo. The car was recently acquired by the selling dealer, and work in preparation for the sale is said to have included paint repairs, refinishing of the wood trim, and replacement carpeting. This 340 is offered with an Ontario registration document.
Derived from the Mark II series, the 340 sedan rides on a 107″ wheelbase and is equipped with circular grilles over the horn openings as well as wraparound bumpers and taillights with built-in reflectors. This example is finished in grey, and evidence of paintwork performed under prior ownership are noted by the seller.
Body-color 15” wheels wear Jaguar-branded hubcaps and Falken tires. This example is equipped with power-assisted steering, and braking is handled by four-wheel discs.
Cabin finishes include blue leather upholstery on the seats accompanied by matching door panels and color-coordinated replacement carpeting. Refinished wood trim lines the dashboard and door windows, and a JVC CD stereo is mounted at the base of the center stack.
Smiths instrumentation framed by the two-spoke steering wheel includes a 140-mph speedometer and a tachometer, while a collection of auxiliary gauges are mounted in the center of the dash. The five-digit odometer shows 66k miles.
The 3.4-liter inline-six is equipped with a pair of SU carburetors and was rated at 210 horsepower when new. Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission.
Corrosion is evident on the underside.
The car does not have a title, as it is registered in a province that does not issue titles for vehicles. It is being sold on its Ontario registration.
