Ebay item 2/24/11

Opening bid $15,000 reserve not met, no bids yet 4 days left in auction. Complete VIN on this car is J67P1F25451BW.

Sellers description:
This is truly a one of a kind. This gorgeous 420 Jag is still in the name of the original owners family. The car was purchased by a famous Hungarian fashion designer in San Fransisco, new in 1967. She drove the car until she passed several years later. Her son and daughter, who are on the pink slip (and I mean PINK slip) inherited the car and have kept it in Los Angeles, garaged, ever since. The car has been used on a regular but seldom basis and always maintained well, mostly by Radcliff at British Car Care on Broadway in Santa Monica, Ca. The car still uses the original black CA licience plate it came with. The original color black paint has been redone once. The original color black seats have been redone once. Other then that the car is original and in fantastic condition. There are some flaws as can be expected from a car of its age. It shows no signs of rust, rot or repair. There is some slight bubbling in the middle of one door but thats it. The car is incredibly straight and the fit is excellent. I runs and drives as it should and the ride is superb. It is amazing how flat it corners considering it is a 67 and a sedan. The car has 82000 ORIGINAL miles. It has books, manuals etc.

Beautiful and original this is a 2 owner car. Never been touched cosmetically. No underside rust, original paint. No accidents. Always kept up mechanically. Cosmetically restore or keep as is. I drive her weekly. I’m z collector with 2 too many projects.

1967 Jaguar 420

condition: good

cylinders: 6 cylinders

drive: rwd

fuel: gas

odometer: 58000

paint color: black

size: mid-size

title status: clean

transmission: automatic

type: sedan

From correspondence with seller:

Is the title in your name?------Yes

How long have you owned it?-----10 years

Does it have air conditioning?----No

Is there any bubbling in the paint anywhere?-----Yes at the seam between the fender and the cowl in one spot. Never seen rust anywhere underneath or in rockers or doors

Are there any chips that are larger than a pinhead? if yes where?-----Not really but there are tree sap stains This may be original paint and the car is a 1967. Being such a solid car it deserves a paint job

Do you have documentation (service records etc.) for the mileage?-----No but i have spent a lot of money on it mechanically over the past 10 years

Do you have the rear window chrome trim?-----Yes

Is there any water leaks——No

Do you have the wing emblem that goes on the top of the radiator surround?——No

How old are the tires?——Unkown

Do the wire wheels have any rust on them?------Light surface rust

Do you know if the front or rear suspension have been rebuilt? i.e. bushing, ball joint etc.-----I have fixed anything that has needed it in the last 10 years but don’t know exactly what that was. I am a collector with many cars so i honestly don’t pay that much attention to each work order

Are there any cracks in the dash pad?------Only one very small imperfection

Are there any cracks/tears/stains on the seats, console, carpet, headliner rear package shelf?——No

Do you have a complete tool kit and jacks tools?—-No

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
