This 1966 Jaguar S-Type is powered by a 3.8-liter DOHC inline-six coupled with a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive. The car is finished in metallic blue over blue leather, and features include dual SU carburetors, a hidden Pioneer AM/FM CD stereo, power steering, air conditioning, four-wheel disc brakes with inboard-mounted rears, driving lamps, fender-mounted side mirrors, and polished knock-off wire wheels. This S-Type is being offered by the selling dealer with a tool kit, manufacturer’s literature, and a clean Missouri title.
The car is said to have been repainted its current shade of metallic blue some time during previous ownership. Exterior features include front fog lamps, fender-mounted side mirrors, dual exhausts, and dual fuel fillers.
Polished 15” wire wheels are secured by two-eared knock-off spinners and mounted with 185-width Dunlop tires. A full-size spare is found in the trunk. Braking is through power-assisted four-wheel discs with inboard-mounted rears.
The cabin has reportedly been reupholstered and houses seats trimmed in blue leather with matching door panels. Darker blue carpets line the floors, and wood trim extends from the center console to the dashboard, upper doors, and B-pillars. Features include air conditioning, Borgeson power steering, a Pioneer CD stereo hidden in the glovebox, toggle switches for vehicle functions, and lap belts for all occupants. A Blaupunkt radio is fitted in the dash but not hooked up. Cracks are noted in the veneer of the wood trim.
A two-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of Smiths instrumentation that includes a 140-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer with an inset analog clock, and a quartet of auxiliary gauges in the center stack. The five-digit odometer shows approximately 55k miles, though total mileage is unknown.
The DOHC 3.8-liter inline-six is equipped with dual SU carburetors and was factory-rated at 225 horsepower and 245 lb-ft of torque. According to the selling dealer, the engine was rebuilt some time ago.
A photo of the cylinder head stamping matches the serial number shown in the gallery below.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual synchromesh transmission with Laycock overdrive and a differential with 3.77:1 gearing. Areas of corrosion are visible on the exhaust system, and additional photos are provided in the gallery.
Chassis number P1B77672DN, the VIN on the title omits the letters “DN.”
