This 1967 Jaguar S-Type is a right-hand drive home-market example powered by a 3.8-liter DOHC inline-six pared with a 3-speed automatic transmission. The car was originally delivered to Henley’s in London and imported to the US in 1980, where it was reportedly stored due to mechanical issues eight years ago under previous ownership. A recent recommissioning by the seller included rebuilds of its SU carburetors and fitment of new fuel pumps as well as an electronic ignition conversion and replacement steering column bushings. The car is now described as a running project which has been driven approximately 350 miles in the past three months. This S-Type is sold with owner’s booklets, a factory service manual, a Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate, and a clean Washington State title in the seller’s name.
The car wears poor quality white paint that was applied in the early 1990s over its original shade of Opalescent Golden Sand, which is visible in the trunk and engine compartment. Areas of filler, overspray, and paint runs are present according to the seller. Corrosion can be seen around the rear window and on the lower edge of the doors and rockers.
The right-hand drive cabin is trimmed in red with worn leather upholstery, a dirty headliner, and threadbare carpeting. The varnish on the wood trim is faded and flaking in areas, and neither the clock or the sending unit for the left-side fuel tank work. Approximately 22k miles are shown on the 5-digit odometer, with the total believed to be 122k by the seller.
