Car to be at auction 6/11
www.barons-auctions.com/details.php

Auction description:
Manufacturer Jaguar Cars
Model S-type 3.4 Saloon
First Registered 1965
Registration No CBR56C
Engine No Nolt Quoted
Chassis No P1B4022BW
MOT April 2012
Colour Silver Grey

Offered here is an outstanding example of the S-type in what is probably the best colour combination available. Add to that the fact that over a 13 year ownership period, the car was put through a comprehensive but sympathetic restoration, before being sold to marque specialist Robert Hughes. He added a few finishing touches before offering the car at Alexandra Palace Classic Motor Show in 2005. The car was then featured in Practical Classic magazine in 2007, which resulted in the car being acquired by an active JEC member who has continued to show that car at numerous club events, clocking up 6000 miles in the process.

Finished in silver grey metallic with red leather and sitting on wire wheels, the car has the 3.4 XK engine, 3 speed Borg Warner transmission and is offered complete with an extensive history file dating back to 1968. The file includes a documented speedo change around 1973, when the mileage was just 22,000 miles. The current mileage is 36,000, which makes a total of just 58,000, which could be correct.

A rare opportunity to acquire an outstanding S-type, with excellent history.

Estimate £13,500-15,000

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
