Car was in auction Sept. 2020

www.handh.co.uk/auction/lot/348-1966-daimler-v8-250/

Auctioneer's description:

Motor Car Location: Peebleshire

17,612 miles from new
Just 2 former keepers shown on V5
Current ownership since 2000
Original handbook
A rare find with such low mileage and ownership
Collection of old MOT's and invoices

Letter from the former owner headed from Stobo Castle of Peeblesshire confirming the low mileage

The V8-250 was a derivative of the all-conquering MKII Jaguar although its fluted grille and more luxurious interior gave the car an air of exclusivity. Its name was drawn from its engine - a lightweight, eight-cylinder one of 2,548cc shared with the Dart. This was mated to a Borg Warner three-speed automatic or four-speed manual gearbox. Production continued until manufacture of all MKII derivatives ceased in 1969, by which time some 17,620 of the Daimler version had been made.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
