Car at auction 3/26
www.lloydsonline.com.au/LotDetails.aspx
Auction description:
1970 Jaguar 420G four-door saloon finished in Sable Grey. Right-hand drive, rear-wheel drive, powered by the legendary 4.2-litre double-overhead-cam inline-six petrol engine paired with a 3-speed automatic transmission. Odometer indicating 99,791 miles. Seating for five. Chassis G1D57592BW, Engine 7D60728.
This example presents very well. The Sable Grey paint has real depth and gloss, the chrome is clean and bright, and the panel gaps are straight throughout. The tan leather interior is honest, with wear consistent with use but no splits or tears, and the headliner is intact, which is not something you take for granted on a 55-year-old car of this type. The burr walnut dashboard trim is in good shape. The engine bay is a working driver, properly maintained, with the correct triple SU HD8 carburettors and the engine running on its original configuration.
The vendor supplies this with service history documentation. A WA dealer particulars form (form4mvdealers) accompanies the lot. The car is located in Bassendean, WA, and benefits from a dry climate storage history evidenced by the trickle charger setup found in the boot. This is a genuine, usable 420G, not a basket case project. These are climbing in value and this one is well below market at its current bid level.
Price Guide: $20,000 - $35,000
