This 1958 Jaguar Mk I is a left-hand-drive 3.4 that was delivered new to Denmark. Finished in gray over gray leather, the car was acquired in Belgium by the seller, who imported it to the US in 2013, which was followed by a $7,500 job at Winning Makes of Santa Barbara, California. In addition to changing fluids and servicing the driveline, the work involved updating the cooling system for its 3.4-liter inline-six and overhauling the clutch hydraulics for its four-speed manual transmission. Other details include electric overdrive, a stainless-steel exhaust system, PerTronix electronic ignition, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, Smiths instruments, and disc brakes. This Mk I is offered with a 1963 invoice, some handwritten notes, records from current ownership, and a clean California title in the seller’s name.
The body was refinished under previous ownership, and the car has headlight grilles, fender-mounted mirrors, a leaper hood ornament, and dual exhaust outlets. The front bumper is equipped with driving lights and a badge bar.
Stopping power is provided by disc brakes, which were serviced with lines and fluid in 2023, after which the 15″ steel wheels were mounted with Vredestein Sprint Classic tires.
The cabin has gray leather upholstery, replacement blue carpets, and wood trim, with pieces around the windows that were refinished under current ownership. The heater core was replaced in 2024.
The wood-rimmed steering wheel was installed under current ownership, as well. The five-digit odometer has rolled over and shows 2k kilometers (~1,300 miles), and total mileage is unknown.
The 3.4-liter inline-six is a replacement installed in the 1960s, and it sends power through a four-speed manual transmission with electric overdrive. An electric cooling fan was installed in 2013, at which time the water pump, coolant, hydraulic and drivetrain fluids, clutch hydraulic cylinders, and the pinion seal were replaced. PerTronix electronic ignition was also added by the seller.
Records from current ownership are included, along with additional documents that accompany the car.
