Sellers description:
For many years I have been a serious British car collector and have restorel several Jaguars. What you are looking at here is the culmination of many years of searching, planning and restoration of a very nice example of an early Jaguar Mark IX saloon. Many people believe it is the most beautiful sedan ever made.

First the car was carefully dissembled and every part inventoried. Then the body was dipped in a hot acid bath, taking it down to shiny bare metal. After that, all exposed rust was replaced with new metal welded into place before being properly primed and professionally painted. The chassis was powder coated before reassembly began. Each piece of chrome is either new or rechromed, all wood has been refinished in England and a new interior (SNG Barratt) with insulation was installed. Tools in both front doors are included.

All glass (original with no scratches, cracks or chips) was correctly reinstalled. The 205R16 tires are new. It also has a new SS exhaust system, new shocks and rear springs and a completely new wiring harness to alleviate any electrical gremlins. The correct 3.8 liter engine was totally disassembled and rebuilt with new pistons, valves and valve springs in the head, bearings, gaskets and seals throughout. The head was rebuilt by a Jaguar marque expert. A four-speed GM automatic transmission has been installed with an oil cooler. All instruments have been rebuilt and reinstalled and the four-wheel disc braking system was completely redone which included rebuilding the master cylinder and all wheel cylinders and a new brake booster. And I even installed brand new brake lines. Both petrol tanks were also completely refurbished with two new SU fuel pumps and the water pump was rebuilt.

During this comprehensive remanufacture, I added such usable upgrades as alternator, electronic ignition, a modern air conditioning system with front vents (not trunk mounted) and an aluminum radiator for better cooling in traffic.

As a result of the time and money expended on this automobile, it is truly a site to behold. You are welcome to come to Tampa, FL to view it yourself or have someone inspect it for you. I don't think you will ever find a Mark IX that is nicer or more ready for this summer's touring events.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
