This 1959 Jaguar Mk IX was once owned by actor Brendon Boone, and the previous owner acquired it from him in 1999 and possessed it until the selling dealer’s acquisition in March 2023. The car is finished in bronze and gray over gray upholstery and it is powered by a 3.8-liter inline-six mated to a Borg Warner three-speed automatic transmission. Additional equipment includes 16″ steel wheels with bright hubcaps, four-wheel disc brakes, twin SU carburetors, a sliding sunroof, Lucas driving lights, fender-mounted side mirrors, rear fender skirts, wood interior trim, fold-down rear picnic tables, and an 8-track stereo. The engine was overhauled and fluid changes were carried out in preparation for the sale. This Mk IX saloon is now offered by the selling dealer at no reserve with spare and removed parts, a tool kit, California license plates, repair and parts manuals, 1999-dated purchase paperwork, service and refurbishment records, and a clean California title.
The car is finished in bronze with gray lower portions, and the selling dealer states the car was repainted in the 1970s, and again in 1999. Exterior elements include a sliding sunroof, chrome bumpers with overriders, Lucas driving lights, fender-mounted side mirrors, front and rear vent windows, rear fender skirts, and twin exhaust outlets. Exterior wear is present and includes deteriorating weatherstripping, indentations, lower door and rocker panel corrosion, and paint blemishes throughout.
Gray-finished 16″ steel wheels wear bright hubcaps exhibiting corrosion and are mounted with 225/70 Cooper CS5 Grand Touring tires that were installed in April 2017. Braking is handled by four-wheel discs and the braking system was overhauled during the 2014 work.
The cabin is equipped with front bucket seats and a rear bench trimmed in gray upholstery as well as color-coordinated door panels and carpets. Wood trim accents the dash, door panels, front seat backs, pillars, and the sunroof opening. Additional appointments include hand-crank side windows, a dash-mounted rearview mirror, rear picnic tables, and an 8-track stereo. Interior wear includes worn-through areas on carpets, de-lamination and discoloration on door panels, and torn areas in the headliner. Trunk carpeting is not fitted.
A four-spoke steering wheel exhibits cracking and sits ahead of a shift selector and centrally positioned Smiths instrumentation that includes a 120-mph speedometer, a reverse-sweep tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 35k miles and true mileage is unknown.
The 3.8-liter DOHC inline-six features twin SU carburetors and was overhauled in June 2014. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Borg Warner three-speed automatic transmission. Fluids were flushed in preparation for the sale.
Documentation accompanying the car includes repair and parts manuals, service and refurbishment records, and 1999-dated purchase paperwork from actor Brendon Boone.
