This 1957 Jaguar Mk VIII saloon is a non-running project that was purchased in Texas by the seller in late 1994, and it has not been driven in approximately 25 years. Finished in silver and black over gray leather, the car is equipped with a 3.4-liter inline-six paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. Other features include twin SU carburetors, a sunroof, 16″ steel wheels, hubcaps, whitewall tires, fender skirts, walnut interior trim, a push-button radio, lap belts, and rear tray tables. This left-hand-drive Mk VIII project is now offered at no reserve with spare parts and a Texas title in the seller’s name.

This car is one of 1,668 left-hand-drive Mk VIII examples produced during the three-year production run. The seller states that this car received bodywork to several panels and was repainted in two-tone silver and black under prior ownership. Equipment includes a manually operated sunroof, a Leaper hood ornament, driving lights, a vertical grille, a single-piece windshield, a cowl vent, fender-mounted side mirrors, rear fender skirts, dual exhaust outlets, and bright bumpers. Bubbling paint is noted on the lower door edges and on the wheel spats, and cracked paint and other imperfections are visible.

Black-painted 16″ steel wheels feature bright hubcaps and are mounted with 6.50–16 BFGoodrich whitewall tires. Servo-assisted drum brakes are stationed at each corner.

The cabin houses front and rear bench seats upholstered in gray leather. Interior appointments include a dash-mounted rearview mirror, a push-button radio, dual gloveboxes, a passenger-side grab handle, a heater, and gray carpeting.

The four-spoke steering wheel fronts a walnut veneer dashboard with centrally mounted Smiths instrumentation consisting of a reverse-sweep 6k-rpm tachometer with an inset clock as well as a 120-mph speedometer and auxiliary gauges for amperage, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 66k miles, approximately 3k of which were added under current ownership.

The rear quarters offer seatback tray tables and a Smiths clock. Lap belts and door-panel armrests are provided for front and rear occupants alike.

An Artic-Kar air-conditioning unit has been placed in the trunk compartment but is not operational.

The 3.4-liter inline-six was factory equipped with two SU carburetors. The engine has not run in an unknown period of time.

A Borg-Warner three-speed automatic transmission is linked to the rear wheels. Corrosion is visible on underbody components.

The car is titled under the chassis number 780432BW, although the seller is unable to locate that sequence on the vehicle itself.
