Car at auction 3/23
www.historics.co.uk/buying/auctions/2023-04-08/cars/ref-137-1960-jaguar-mk-ix-sb ...
Auction description:
Lot 113 - 1960 Jaguar Mk. IX
Registration YLK 827
Chassis Number 773598 DN
Engine Number NC 6848-8
Odometer reading 58,608 miles
Estimate £14,000 - £18,000
Manufactured on 30th December 1959 and first registered on 13th January 1960, this Jaguar presents in British Racing Green with Suede Green interior. The Jaguar Heritage Certificate confirms the supplying dealer was Henlys in London and that the registration number of YLK 827 has been on the car from new. From the history file and tax disc on the car, it looks like this Mk. IX was taken off the road in 1971 and put into storage, the indications are the mileage of 58,608 could well be correct but is not warranted. Recently recommissioned we are advised this Jaguar runs and drives with no known faults. The vendor on his first outing drove the car from The Midlands to the South coast without it missing a beat. Even the overdrive unit on the gearbox functioned correctly. Supplied with a V5C registration document, a collection of invoices and some previous MoT test certificates the last one was issued on 10th August 1971 with the mileage at that stage being 54,668. These are aesthetically charming vehicles with British design and engineering at its best.
