Current bid $5,000 reserve not met, 1 bid 6 days left in auction. Buy it now price $10,000. Car now said to be in Indianola, Indiana. 68k miles.

    Sellers description:
1954 Jaguar Mark VII in good condition. It runs and drives, and has been used mostly as a parade car. It has a new water pump, fuel pump and pressure regulator. The exterior looks good but has some areas in the paint that have been repaired in the past that are now showing on close inspection. Also some small areas of the clear coat is flaking. The body is very good, and has been undercoated. The interior is leather and complete, but the drivers seat has areas of tear or wear through, and the back seat has been partially spray coated. One of the two fuel tanks has a slow leak, so has not been used. Tires are good and very usable, but slightly weather cracked. It has the semaphore (flip out) turn signals and a factory moon roof. Also the factory fold-out dinning tables for the rear seats, and a rear seat fold down arm-rest.

Correction, car said to be in Indianola, Iowa, not Indiana.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
