Judging by a tax disc found in its glovebox, this particular example was last on the road in March 1973. Finished in dark green with light green upholstery, it is now in need of extensive restoration. Basically sound underneath, its doors open and close readily (though each carries corrosion to its base). Inside, the headlining is shot probably as the result of a leaking sunroof. The leather smells musty and some of the stitching has disintegrated but much of the hide looks salvageable given sufficient treatment. While the chrome plating to the bumpers has blistered, that on many of the smaller trim pieces appears to be in good order. Under the bonnet, the engine seems to retain a full complement of ancillaries and peripherals such as the glass washer bottle are still in place. Opening the boot reveals the ‘missing’ rear wing spats and a couple of spare wheels. Offered for sale with old style logbook and V5 registration document, the vendor informs us that the potentially transferable number plate has been valued at £1,500.
Estimate: £800-1,200 Result: £775
