Hi David, congratulations! Lovely car! I would be curious to know, where does the "Light Blue" in the original interior colour come from? My JHT certificate for 647194 built on July 14th 1950 only says "blue", which I thought meant blue, that is a medium or dark blue, but later I found out that from 1946 to 1951 Jaguar only had one "blue" available for the big cars that that was called "Pale Blue" at the time. BTW later the same colour was called "Light Blue" and in the XK120 OTS "Duo-tone Blue" it was also called that, "Dark Blue & Light Blue". Even later it was called Blue/Grey in the DS420, same Connolly code for all. How do I know? I have factory leather sample booklets, the Connolly code is always printed on the back side: VM.3244. Cheers!

Today, we are proud to offer a genuine example of a rare UK supplied, RHD, matching numbers Mk V DHC. According to its Jaguar Heritage Certificate, this example was manufactured on 1st December 1950. The original buff log book confirms the date of first registration as 3rd February 1951 and the Jaguar today still retains its original registration number. The recorded 38,000 miles are believed to be genuine as gathered from the history file and old MoT test certificates.

Originally Gunmetal, the coachwork is now presented in Opalescent Silver with an excellent matching blue hide interior. The sweeping lines of this magnificent motor car are carried by the original steel wheels and correct 'Ace' wheel trims and painted hub caps. On a recent test, it was found that once seated in the comfortable leather seats you are presented with a dashboard sporting an array of instruments and a period radio to keep the driver well informed and entertained. The Jaguar started easily and soon settled to a smooth idle. On the road it drove extremely smoothly with easy gear changes, without the need to double de-clutch and without having to fight to keep it in a straight line; a testament to the condition of the suspension and chassis. Whilst on the road, the gauges displayed the correct readings with the oil pressure indicating 50 psi. The original semaphore indicators have been disabled with the light units converted to indicate in their place; a conversion allowing for modern day road conditions and drivers. We are advised that these semaphore indicators may be reactivated without undue difficulty. Of special note is the tool tray to be found within its own compartment stowed in the boot lid; all the tools are present and correct - a rare full collection indeed.

A large history file details the full record of ownership (nine owners researched and recorded) and includes the maintenance history with many receipts for works carried out. A new owner will find useful the original Owners Operating and Maintenance Handbook, workshop manual and a spare set of keys. A wonderful opportunity to acquire a rare UK right hand drive Mk V Jaguar with the more desirable 3½ litre engine whose elegance is perfect for showing or driving at the most prestigious events.
