www.historics.co.uk/buying/auctions/2019-11-23/cars/ref-54-1951-jaguar-mk-v-salo ...

Auction description:

Lot 127 - 1951 Jaguar Mk. V Saloon (3½ litre)

Registration HWS 656 Chassis Number 625443 Engine Number Z5090 Odometer reading 63,773 km Estimate £24,000 - £28,000

Chassis sand blasted with suspension renovated

New electrical system

New paintwork, a most elegant example!

Extensive works have been undertaken to return this most elegant of examples back to its former glory. The chassis has been sand-blasted, cleaned and, whilst in the air, the suspension has also been renovated. The electrical system has been replaced and all chrome elements restored. The engine has been tested and in good condition with the manual gearbox reported to be operating smoothly. The original paintwork of this example has been stripped off and re-painted with the original factory colour with all upholstery and wooden parts reconditioned and new carpets fitted. Complete with a UK registration document showing just three previous owners, this classic motorcar from Jaguar’s heyday is in good order throughout and represents the very spirit of motoring

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
