Auction description:
Dore & Rees - Collector's Cars, Bradford-on-Avon, UK 14 March, 2026
1948 Jaguar Mark IV 3.5 Litre Saloon
Estimate £15,000 - £25,000
Registration Number: 783 XUD
Chassis Number: 612873
Recorded Mileage: c.66,000 miles
- From The Brian Ford Collection
- Fitted with Jaguar’s larger 3.5 litre engine
- Recent c. £30,000 restoration
Acquired by Brian Ford in 2010, this very attractive Mark IV, fitted with the larger and more desirable 3.5 litre engine, has been subject of a comprehensive restoration in recent years, documented with a thick file of receipts and hand written notes of the work. The notes on file total in the region of £30,000, in addition to invoices for various parts and services procured.
Finished in two-tone Black over Battleship Grey with matching black wheels, embossed black seating with Wessex grey wool carpeting, this all in all a supremely stylish example of Jaguar’s flagship saloon car of the late 1940s.
