Car at auction 3/26
online.doningtonauctions.com.au/lot-details/index/catalog/336/lot/72327/
Auction description:
Lot 45c.1948 Jaguar Mark IV 1 1/2-litre Saloon Project NO RESERVE [Location: Sydney]
c.1948 Jaguar Mark IV 1 1/2-litre Saloon
Project or parts car
From a private Jaguar collection
Offered with No Reserve
Chassis no. 411069
Engine no. KB2432
Body no. B2615
We understand this Mark IV 1 1/2-litre Saloon was part of a larger collection of Jaguars owned by a marque enthusiast, who sold them to someone in Queensland several years ago. The current Sydney owner bought a group of cars to get a couple of special models he was particularly interested in and the remainder have been kept in dry storage ever since.
Offered without reserve and strictly as viewed, this relatively rare Jaguar 1 1/2-litre Mark IV appears to be mechanically complete and the engine number corresponds to that shown on the build plate. The car clearly hasn’t run in many years and is in generally poor condition, with rust evident in the body and floors, the interior has suffered from exposure and the headlamps are the outer shells only, while other trim items like tools and radiator cap are missing.
Presenting as a good source of spare parts, a restoration project for someone not faint of heart or even a piece of garden art, the Jaguar will be sold unregistered and with No Reserve.
