Car was offered in Germany in 2023 at:
www.kickdown.com/de/postings/68d599cc6049-1966-jaguar-mark-2-in-33154-salzkotten
Seller's description:
Jaguar Mark 2
Year of manufacture 1966
Transmission Manual
HP 220
Mileage 39,026 mi
Country version UK
Location Salzkotten
Color English White
The Jaguar was imported from the United Kingdom in 1984 and has had only one owner in Germany since then (a woman, no transfers within the family, etc. – only one registered owner). The classic car also has the coveted H-plate (historic vehicle registration) and a valid TÜV inspection until March 2024. The car has been unregistered since the end of 2022, but is fully roadworthy and accident-free in its current ownership. Furthermore, the owner states that the Jaguar has matching numbers – this is highly likely, but has not been verified. According to the seller, the car's history can be traced almost completely back to 1978 using a folder full of documents. A recent Classic Data appraisal from 2022, valuing the car at €32,000, is also available.
The exterior of the Jaguar is painted in the manufacturer's color, beige. According to the seller, the entire car, except for the roof, was repainted in its original color during a partial restoration at a specialist workshop in the late 1990s/early 2000s. Bodywork, particularly on the doors, was also carried out at this time. Cavity wax treatment was also performed. Today, the body and paintwork exhibit a patina typical for its age.
The 1966 Jaguar Mk 2 3.8 has its original wire wheels. However, according to the seller, the tires need replacing due to their age. The brakes are in good condition and fully functional, with their performance estimated at 70 to 90%.
With its elegant red leather interior, the Jaguar's interior is truly impressive. (The interior is completely original!) Another eye-catching feature is the dashboard and the original radio. The leather is in good condition for its age, without any tears or other damage.
The odometer shows that the classic car has accumulated approximately 31,026 miles (about 49,641 km). According to the owner, the mileage is verifiable through several existing documents, although a service booklet is not included. Furthermore, the odometer was replaced between 1978 and 1982 at 8,000 miles (about 12,875 km). This value must therefore be added to the odometer reading. The total mileage is thus 39,026 miles (about 62,806 km). According to the seller, the tachometer is not working.
As the name suggests, a 3.8-liter engine with an impressive 220 hp lurks beneath the Jaguar. It's powered by a manual transmission with overdrive. Available information indicates the last service was in 2022.
According to the seller, the underbody of this 1966 Jaguar Mk 2 3.8 has been welded; further details can be seen in the photos. However, there is no further information regarding any repairs or maintenance work. As previously mentioned, new tires are needed.
