This 1964 Jaguar Mark II is a non-running project that was owned by American architect, Ray Kappe, and is said to have been parked for the last 30 years. The car is equipped with a 3.8-liter inline-six linked with a three-speed automatic transmission and is finished in gray over black leather upholstery. Equipment includes 15″ wire-spoke wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, a sunroof, front bucket seats, and an AM/FM radio. This Mark II project is now offered at no reserve with manufacturer’s literature and a California title in the name of a family trust.
The car is said to have been refinished in gray some time in the 1970s. Exterior details include a sunroof, chrome trim and bumpers with overriders, and a leaper hood ornament. Faded paint, rust, and pitting in the chrome trim can be seen on various body.
The 15″ wire wheels are secured by two-eared knockoffs and mounted with older 185-series Pirelli Cinturato tires that are cracking and worn. Braking is handled by four-wheel discs, and the system has not been tested in over three decades.
The cabin houses front bucket and rear bench seats trimmed in black leather, while wood trim accents the dashboard and upper door panels. Amenities include a cabin heater, a Blaupunkt AM/FM radio, and a locking glovebox.
The two-spoke steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation consisting of a 140-mph speedometer and a 6k-rpm tachometer. Auxiliary gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and amperage are located at the top of the center stack. The five-digit odometer shows 94k miles. Total mileage is unknown.
The non-running 3.8L inline-six is equipped with a single carburetor and has not been started in three decades. Power is delivered to the rear wheels via a three-speed automatic transmission.
The California title is listed as a duplicate.
