Desirable 3.8L car with manual overdrive gearbox
Model aficionados will note that it is in great condition, presenting well in the usual detail Mk2 check areas such as sills, base of doors, top leading edge of front wings and the flush panel fit. Inside there is a complementary grey blue leather interior that is equally good. That’s good news because restoring a Mk2 interior can be surprisingly expensive.
The car comes with a recent positive expert assessment that we are told is valid until 2026. There is also the small matter of €14,000 of mechanical recommissioning by a well-respected specialist, covering brakes, servicing, fuel system, ignition system and carburettors. It features useful upgrades like LED headlights and XJ6 calipers. The current Controle Technique runs to October 2029.
This is a very attractive Mk2 in the right spec and with the reassurance of all that recent work. A great find for anyone who values these attractive cars.
The vendor says:
“The Jaguar Mk2 represents the quintessence of the English automotive industry. Powerful in its 3.8L/220 hp version, with its racing history, speed, handling, roominess, and comfort that rival any modern car. This model has been fitted with powerful brakes (XJ6 calipers) and LED headlights to make it more suitable for today's traffic conditions. We have also paid particular attention to the small details which, if neglected, can spoil a weekend outing or a long journey.”
