Car on ebay 8/25www.ebay.com/itm/226947706998
Car has a buy it now price of $9,700 for 29 days, seller zagato62, 112k miles
Seller's description:
1960 JAGUAR MK2 3.8
4 speed overdrive, disc brakes, a/c, matching numbers
This Jaguar has spent the last 15 years stored in a garage in Southern California. It is a straight, non-running, complete car that has every option available at the time-even air conditioning. It comes with some spares (overriders, door handles, wood trim, etc.) as shown in the photos.
The body is excellent and has never suffered an accident. The floors and rockers are perfectly rust free. All the door, hood and trunk gaps are nice. There is a small area in the left rear 1/4 panel (pictured) where there are some tiny rust bubbles. Otherwise the car is rust free. The paint has some scuffs but would likely buff out to look decent.
The chrome is all extremely straight and original. There are some freckles but it would clean up nicely. The trim around the windows is detaching due to very hard rubber seals. An extra grill is included and the missing vertical slat (see photos) is also included.
The interior has some fading in the carpet and the wood is a bit dry in some places. The gauges are all intact. One radio knob and one vent plastic end are missing. The car is equipped with a CoolAire air conditioning system which blows the a/c from the rear deck. All of the equipment for the a/c is present, including the compressor in the engine compartment.
The matching numbers engine does not turn over. It is complete, including the proper early air cleaner and dual SU carbs.
The wire wheels have good chrome with very little surface rust. Tires are old and have aged out.
This car is priced to sell and with some mechanical work could be a good driver quality car. The rare options, matching numbers and straight body make this a deserving project.
