Car offered at:

Seller's description:
29,121 miles (Indicated)
manual
RHD
Old English White
Red
3.8L
This Jaguar MKII 3.8 is a handsomely specified and particularly smart example of the stylish classic British sports saloon, which has been enhanced with a few discerning performance and modernising upgrades.
Under the bonnet sits a naturally aspirated 3.8-litre straight-six, which sends power to the rear wheels via a retrofitted four-speed ‘Moss-box’ manual transmission with overdrive.
This example has been with the seller for five years.
The odometer indicates 29,121 miles, though this is not warranted.
EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES
This MKII is finished in the ever-popular shade of Old English White over a striking red leather-trimmed interior, featuring handsome wood veneer trim on the dashboard and upper door cards.
It now rides on a set of 15-inch chrome wire wheels with two-spoke knock-offs, shod in Nankang Toursport 611 tyres.
The factory specification includes push-out front and rear quarter light windows, Smiths gauges, dashboard toggle switches, heater and ventilation controls, and a push-button ‘His Masters Voice’ radio.
This example was converted from its original automatic specification to a four-speed manual ‘Moss-box’ gearbox with overdrive, and has been upgraded with a thermo fan, a Moto-Lita wood-rimmed steering wheel, a radiator expansion tank, a CD player, and the cylinder heads converted to run on unleaded fuel.
The car comes with the maintenance paperwork from the seller’s ownership, a full toolkit, a copper and rawhide 2lb knock-off hammer, a fire extinguisher, a jack, the CD player manual, and PDF copies of the service manual and parts catalogue.
Please note: the numberplate ‘0008H8’ is not included in the sale. The car is on a non-transferable Club Permit and so will be transferred unregistered in the event of a successful auction.
CONDITION
Please refer to the photo gallery to assess the exterior and interior condition.
Specific notes from the seller include: numerous small chips and cracks across the paintwork, including on the boot edges, door edges, around the grille, bonnet join, behind the front bumper, below the chrome strips, and around the front side lamps.
The seller is not aware of any electrical faults, though they do note that the upper control arm bushes are worn, the rear shock absorber bushes are worn, there are cracks in the fuel hose to filter, cracks in the drive belt, and play in the left-hand outer tie rod end.
The car’s last REGO test was conducted on 20 December 2018, which is understood to have resulted in a clean pass with no advisories.
SERVICE HISTORY
This MkII’s last maintenance was carried out in August 2023 at an indicated 29,019 miles by JRG Automotive Pty Limited, which consisted of an ‘A’ service, including an engine oil and filter change, and an inspection.
A new choke solenoid, Bosch contact set and rotor button were fitted in January 2020 at an indicated 27,163 miles by JRG Automotive Pty Limited.
Prior to this, technicians at independent Jaguar service specialist Mike Roddy Motors replaced four trailing arm bushes, rebuilt the distributor, set the timing, installed points, a condenser and a plug lead set, replaced the left-hand window regulator, fitted a new grille and emblem, replaced a coil, and repaired the driver’s side top guard park light indicator in July 2019.
A genuine Jaguar air filter housing was fitted in December 2018 by Mike Roddy Motors, alongside the spark plugs being changed, the rotor button cleaned, the mixtures, timing and idle adjusted, two new air horns being fitted, all new tyres being fitted, the carburettor needles replaced, and the tune on the carburettors being reset.
