Lovely Australian personal export Jaguar Mark II 3.8
Desirable manual overdrive car
Fine example of Jaguar's ultimate sports sedan
From the Estate of the Late Ian Cummins.
According to the Jaguar Daimler Heritage certificate supplied with the car, this desirable manual overdrive Jaguar Mark II was completed on March 29, 1962 and supplied through Brysons as a personal export to Australia, while the UK log book indicates the car was first registered to Jaguar Cars Ltd on Coventry plates 1205 WK. The first private owner was a Mr W Becker, c/- ES & A Bank in London, who presumably kept the car in London for a time before shipping it home to Australia. Sold to Jim Eckersley of Bathurst (and later Chatswood), NSW in October 1994, the car was well known to Ian Cummins, who looked after it for many years and ultimately ended up with the Mark II in his renowned collection. The Jaguar has been extensively refurbished over the years, the body done in 2008 and four new triple-laced competition chrome wire wheels fitted in 2010, along with uprated front roll bar, EZ power steering, two Coombs specification front springs, four new Koni shock absorbers and a Derrington steering wheel. Beautifully presented in the original Mist Grey with complementary red leather upholstery, the Mark II is certainly one of the finest examples offered by Shannons in recent years. Sold unregistered, the Mark II is supplied with a receipt file dating back to 1994 and a folder containing an original handbook and maintenance book.
