Auction description:
The MKII offered here appears to have had just three former keepers. It is a very early car with recessed sun-visors, is still on its original registration number and is still in the original livery of cream with red leather. Originally completed in February 1960, the car was supplied to its first owner by Henley's of London. It is offered complete with a Heritage Certificate, which was supplied by the JDHT in July 1995 and a production record showing that it was despatched, from Browns Lane, on the 17th February 1960. The car is offered as a rolling restoration but appears to in reasonable mechanical condition. The interior is in need of tlc and the paintwork is described as poor. It is offered complete with an original owners manual and an extensive history file of bills and previous MoT certificates.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
