Car to be at auction 7/22

Auction description:
July Classic: 29 Jul 2022 - 1968 Jaguar S-Type 3.4 Manual Overdrive
Guide Price: £16,500 to £19,500
Manufacturer: Jaguar
First Registered: 1968
Model: S-Type 3.4 Manual Overdrive
Registration No: JCE 94F
Mileometer: 72,780
Chassis No: 1B9012DN
MOT: Exempt
Colour: Dark Blue

This is a 1968 Jaguar S-Type 3.4 Manual with overdrive. The vendor has owned this car for about 6 years, and has spent a substantial amount of money, about £30,000, on the car. The car was re-sprayed and any necessary bodywork fettled in 2019, and presents very well, and there is a photographic record of the work done. All the chrome work, fittings, and wire wheels are described as excellent. The interior is described as being excellent all round.

The car has been MoT'd virtually every year since GOV.UK records began, and the mileage covered over that time is only 5,500. The vendor recently went on a trip from his home on the South Coast to the Lake District and back without issue, and says the car has always been reliable.

Guide Price: £13,000 to £15,000

Manufacturer: Jaguar

First Registered: 1968

Model: S-Type 3.4 Manual Overdrive

Registration No: JCE 94F

Mileometer: 72,780

Chassis No: 1B9012DN

Colour: Dark Blue

This is a 1968 Jaguar S-Type 3.4 Manual with overdrive. The vendor has owned this car for about 6 years, and has spent a substantial amount of money, about £30,000, on the car. The car was re-sprayed and any necessary bodywork fettled in 2019, and presents very well, and there is a photographic record of the work done. As the doors were removed for the re-spray, new door rubbers were fitted. All the chrome work, fittings, and wire wheels are described as very good. The interior is described as being very good all round, and benefits from a new cloth headlining. There is a substantial history with the car going back to the 1980s, including an invoice for renovating the rear suspension and differential..

This is a lovely S-Type, the Jaguar Dark Blue paintwork is absolutely stunning, and we are told, the car is a pleasure to drive.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
