Car at auction 3/26
www.iconicauctioneers.com/1967-jaguar-s-type-rec16690-1-nec-0326
Auction description:
1967 Jaguar S-Type 3.4
Estimate £10,000 - £12,000
Classic Car Auctions - Practical Classics Sale, Birmingham, UK 21 - 22 March, 2026
Lot 216
Introduced in 1963 as a slightly roomier, more powerful, more refined sibling to the Mk2, the S-Type actually outsold its smaller brother
Powered by the sonorous 210bhp, straight-six 3.4-litre XK unit mated to (in this case) a 4-speed manual gearbox
Finished in Old English White, this 1967 example is fitted with a manual gearbox and was supplied new to Wadhams Ltd of Cowes as their official demonstrator
Just three previous owners from new (excluding dealership use), with the owner prior to our vendor having cherished the car for over 33 years
Comprehensively restored in the early 1990s, including a bare-shell rebuild, full repaint, re-plated chrome, renewed trim and a fully refurbished interior with freshly-veneered woodwork
Thoughtfully upgraded for modern classic use, featuring Coopercraft front brakes, uprated suspension, hydraulic power-steering rack, Moto-Lita steering wheel, and higher-ratio differential for relaxed cruising
Mechanical rebuilds completed with care, including engine, gearbox and rear suspension overhaul at c.77,000 miles, followed by a further cosmetic and mechanical refresh in 2008 after 100,000 reliable miles
Well-maintained, well-used and well-loved, recently enjoyed and a faithful, usable classic with genuine character
A grown-up Mk2, the S-Type was the most aspirational saloon car of the period and offers an affordable entry into the world of Classic Jaguar ownership
